What it means
- Most job descriptions don't say. 97% are silent about visas. Silence isn't a no: ask the recruiter before you spend an evening on the application.
- Some rule it out in writing. 1 say they can't sponsor or want an existing right to work. If you'd need a visa, skip those and save the effort.
- Few entry-level roles. None is junior or graduate by title; most want experience.
What to put on your CV for Portugal
- Your right to work, near the top. “EU citizen, no visa needed” if that's you; otherwise the permit you'd apply for, for example “Eligible for the EU Blue Card”. Check that it applies to you.
- Where you are and when you can move. “Based in Bengaluru · relocating to Portugal, available from March.”
- Your phone with its country code, such as +91 or +34.
- Languages with levels: “English (C1), Portuguese (B1)”.

Free, about a minute. It checks what recruiters look at first in a foreign applicant (right to work, location, phone, languages), then reads your CV the way a recruiter would. Paste a job description and it shows what that job filters on.

How this is counted: every open data and ML job in Portugal on the ApplyCV jobs board, read directly from the employers' own job pages (32 today, recounted daily). The visa, relocation and language figures come from each job description's own wording; nothing here is verified with the employer, and a job description that says nothing may still sponsor. The board covers the companies it reads, not every employer in Portugal.
