Quality & Test Technician (m/f/d)

Mission Brief

As a Quality & Test Technician (Electronics Manufacturing), you are responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and readiness of electronic assemblies throughout the production process. You will inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), perform electrical testing, operate advanced manufacturing equipment, verify conformal coating quality, and support final assembly and product release activities.

This role is critical to maintaining product quality, manufacturing reliability, and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Test Engineering teams to ensure products meet all workmanship, functional, and traceability requirements before release.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

• Perform visual inspection of PCBAs according to applicable IPC standards and company workmanship requirements

• Verify solder joint quality, component placement, polarity, labeling, and overall assembly compliance.

• Inspect conformal coating, underfill, and dispensing applications for coverage, defects, contamination, and workmanship acceptance criteria.

• Operate selective coating, dispensing, and curing equipment according to approved manufacturing procedures.

• Operate flying probe and functional test equipment and execute approved test programs.

• Review test results, identify failures, and support basic troubleshooting activities.

• Perform firmware programming, flashing, and configuration of electronic assemblies and finished products.

• Execute burn-in and functional test procedures according to approved manufacturing and test documentation.

• Integrate electronic assemblies into mechanical housings and perform basic electro-mechanical assembly operations.

• Document and report non-conformances, workmanship defects, and quality concerns.

• Ensure proper handling of ESD-sensitive components and assemblies.

• Maintain accurate production records, traceability documentation, and test reports.

• Support new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and efficiency.

Qualification Checklist

• Completed vocational training as Electronics Technician, Mechatronics Technician, or equivalent qualification.

• Experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, testing, inspection, or quality assurance environments.

• Practical knowledge of IPC-A-610 or equivalent workmanship standards.

• Experience inspecting PCBAs and electronic assemblies.

• Experience with functional testing, flying probe testing, or other electronic test methods is advantageous.

• Familiarity with conformal coating, underfill, or dispensing processes is desirable.

• Experience performing firmware flashing and device configuration activities.

• Basic understanding of electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation.

• Knowledge of ESD protection requirements and safe handling practices.

• Familiarity with traceability systems and production documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Good English skills; German language skills are advantageous.
