IT Director
The opportunity
Most people only notice IT when it gets in the way. The best internal technology does
the opposite: it disappears. A new colleague has everything they need on day one.
Access is right, meetings start, teams collaborate, systems are secure, and help
arrives before a small issue becomes a lost day.
Docplanner serves 300,000 doctors across 13 markets, handling over 20 million
appointments a month. We’re becoming the operating system of healthcare, powered
by AI. Behind that product is a distributed company that needs to move quickly, work
securely, and operate as one.
We’re looking for the IT leader who will create a global technology environment that
removes friction and enables teams to move fast without creating fragmentation,
unnecessary cost, or risk.
The role
You’ll lead corporate IT across Docplanner, owning the global strategy and operating
model for workplace technology and IT service delivery. This includes end-user
computing, identity and access, device lifecycle, collaboration tools, office
connectivity, service management, asset and license management, vendor
relationships, and operational resilience.
You’ll work closely with Security, Business Systems, People Experience, Finance,
Legal, Procurement, and leaders across the company. Your job is to make ownership
clear, connect the controls, and give colleagues one coherent experience—not a
collection of systems and teams they have to navigate themselves.
You’ll lead and develop a distributed IT team, set clear priorities and service
standards, and build a roadmap that balances reliability, security, colleague
experience, and cost. You’ll stay close to the people using the environment you run
and turn recurring friction into problems that are solved once rather than tickets that
are answered forever.
IT should not feel like a gate. It should make the right way of working the easiest way.
What we’re looking for
- You start from how the business works, not from the tools already in place. You can tell the difference between a technology problem and a broken process, unclear ownership, or an impractical policy. You treat IT service as a product, use data to understand where time and productivity are being lost, and fix underlying problems rather than repeatedly addressing their symptoms.
- You’ve led IT for a complex, multi-country organization. You understand what changes when teams, entities, offices, and regulatory expectations span markets. You know where global standards create leverage and where local flexibility is genuinely needed.
- You build security and resilience into everyday operations. You understand identity, access, endpoints, data handling, continuity, and the practical controls a growing company needs. You partner closely with Security and Risk, translating requirements into ways of working people can actually adopt.
- You bring operational and commercial discipline. You’ve owned budgets, vendors, licenses, assets, and technology portfolios. You can simplify a fragmented environment, challenge spend without damaging the colleague experience, and turn a roadmap into reliable delivery.
- You’ve led meaningful change and built strong teams. You create clear accountability, develop capable leaders and specialists, and bring people with you when tools, processes, or ways of working need to change.
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical leaders, especially when the answer involves a difficult choice rather than a quick fix.
- Automation is already part of how you work, and you’re actively exploring how AI can improve areas such as support, knowledge management, provisioning, analysis, and controls. You apply it thoughtfully, with the right human judgment and safeguards.
- You don’t need to come from healthcare or tick every line above. If most of this sounds like you and you’ve led an IT environment through real scale or transformation, we want to hear from you.
Why now
Docplanner has the scale of an established international company and the ambition
of one still transforming. Distributed work, growing regulatory expectations, and AI are
changing what teams need from technology—and how quickly IT has to respond.
This is the opportunity to shape the next version of our global IT environment: clearer
ownership, stronger foundations, fewer unnecessary tools, better service, and more
automation.
Our ambition is to support 1 billion patient visits every year within the next decade.
Every hour removed from onboarding, every recurring issue eliminated, and every
safer, simpler way of working gives our teams more time to build toward that goal.
Tell us about an environment you transformed. We care about what became
measurably better, not how impressive the toolset looked.
What success looks like
Six to twelve months in, here’s what “good” looks like:
The direction is clear. Docplanner has a practical global IT strategy, visible priorities,
clear ownership, and a roadmap grounded in business needs, risk, service data, and
cost. Leaders understand the trade-offs, and the team knows what matters most.
Colleagues notice less friction. Onboarding and offboarding are dependable, people
receive the right device and access at the right time, common issues are resolved
predictably, and recurring problems are designed out. Service performance is
improving, and you can show why.
The environment is safer, more resilient, and better governed. Identity, endpoints,
access, assets, continuity, vendors, and licenses are managed consistently. You know
what we use, why we use it, what it costs, who owns it, and where risk or duplication
sits. Controls are clear enough to audit and practical enough to follow.
You’ve built an IT team the company trusts. The team is proactive, accountable, and
close to its colleagues. It measures outcomes, automates repetitive work, and spends
more time preventing problems than moving them between queues. The standard is
high, and the team is energized by it, not worn down.
