Illustrative of a typical corporate opening. Most applicant tracking systems rank and filter rather than rejecting outright, so this is about your position in the pile, not a pass mark.

What the applicant tracking system makes of your CV.
Before a recruiter opens it, the system parses your CV into fields and checks them. Here is a two-column CV with mixed date formats, and what the checks found.

The applicant tracking system, before any person sees you
The file parses, but two normalisation problems mean the system will misread the career history before anyone assesses the content.

Part 1
Can it be read?
The system parses the document into fields before anyone searches it. Whatever it cannot parse, it cannot use.
What the system would fill in about you
Read from your document the way an applicant tracking system reads it. Green was found. Orange was read, but only you can say whether it is right. Red is missing.
- Nameis this right?
- Camille LaurentThis is the name the system would file your CV under. It takes the first short line, so if a job title or a heading shows here instead, put your name on its own on the first line.
- Emailfound
- c.laurent@example.comThe system can reach you at this address.
- Phonemissing
- No phone number in the text. If yours is in the page header or footer, move it into the body: many parsers skip the margins.
- Most recent roleis this right?
- Product Marketing Manager, NordwindThis is what the system would list as your current job. It takes the line next to your most recent dates, so if the title or employer is wrong here, keep the title, employer and dates together on one line.

Positioning read
A product marketer who ships launches but hides the numbers behind them
Five years across two B2B SaaS companies, with launches, sales enablement and pricing work all present. A recruiter sees the range but cannot see what any of it moved, so the profile reads a level junior to the work.
Six criteria recruiters read for
Your target role comes through. Lead with the SaaS B2B specialty.
The expertise is credible. Open with your two strongest results.
The results are there. Be specific about what you owned.
The signal is scattered. Match your top three to the role you want.
Little third-party proof. Ask two colleagues for specific recommendations.
Your career path is clear. Spell out the logic behind your last two moves.
One line, rewritten · Product Marketing Manager, Northwind Software
Before
Responsible for go-to-market for new features and supporting the sales team.
After
Ran go-to-market for 6 feature launches a year: positioning, launch plan and a 12-person sales team briefed on each. The last launch drove [X]% of Q3 pipeline.
Why: A duty becomes owned work with a count, a team size and a place for the result, so a recruiter can price the role.
Fix this first
Put the pricing change and its result in the About: it is the one line on the profile that shows revenue ownership, and it is buried in the third role.
Without it, the profile reads as launch support rather than a PMM who moves numbers.

What ApplyCV does, and what it doesn't claim to do.
What do I get for free?+
More than a score. Two of them, how an applicant tracking system reads and ranks you and how a recruiter does, with all six criteria scored and a one-line verdict on each. Then a positioning read in a recruiter's words, a diagnosis of what's working and what's holding you back, your highest-impact fix, one of your own lines rewritten, a rewritten headline, and every ATS fix. No account needed, and it takes about 30 seconds.
What is the ATS check?+
Most employers route applications through an applicant tracking system (ATS), and it does two things before a recruiter sees you. It parses your CV into fields: name, contact, each role with its dates, the sections. Then, when a recruiter searches or the system ranks applicants against the advert, it scores what it parsed. The check tests both: can it be read, and will it be found and ranked. Every result is measured from your own text, and we never claim to know which system an employer runs or that you will pass it.
What's in the $9.90 report?+
Where your profile lands you today and what would change that, the reasoning behind every score, every fix ranked by impact, and rewritten copy: three headlines, an About section and your key roles. Add a job ad and you also get a full gap analysis and recommendations tailored to that role. It also includes one re-score: make the changes, upload the new version, and the full report is unlocked on it again at no extra cost.
Does ApplyCV invent results to make my profile look better?+
No. Every recommendation is grounded in what your profile or CV already says. We sharpen and reframe your own material. We never invent achievements.
Can I use my CV instead of LinkedIn?+
Yes. Give us your LinkedIn URL, or upload your CV as a PDF or Word file, whichever suits you.
What happens to my data?+
Your profile text is used to produce your report and nothing else. We don't sell or share it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. If you ask us to email you the report link, we keep that address to send it, and to send two short follow-ups only if you tick the box for them. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
